Story

A gentle workhorse of a vest, seriously rugged outside with a light, smooth interior. Insulated and breathable, the Strong Vest is a great daily layering piece for the fall, winter, and spring.

The Strongcloth outer face is a canvas woven with thick yarns, each of which is made up of dozens of fine air forged Supplex fibers twisted together. Every one of those fine fibers are forged with an air jet process, giving them a soft cotton-like hand with high grade nylon strength. It feels great, breathes well and can still play rough - a great complement to the breathable, versatile warmth of the Primaloft Infinity insulation it surrounds. Lined with a smooth air forged broadcloth, it stays warm and comfortable in a wide range of temperatures and activity levels.

For this vest we went for a clean, sharp look. A high collar keeps out the cold and flat black stainless steel shanks fasten it shut. The Strong Vest is a straightforward, no-nonsense vest that is ready for every day.

Fabric

The secret to this cloth is in the unique way it utilizes Supplex yarns to create a fabric that is simultaneously cotton-soft and seriously rugged. The Supplex fibers are incredibly fine and have been forged using an air jet process that gives the fiber a natural kink similar to cotton. Dozens of these fibers are then twisted together to form a thick yarn that is used to weave a simple yet tough canvas fabric. The softness of fine fiber, the relaxed breathability associated with cotton and the toughness of high grade nylon all bound together in a luxuriously strong cloth.

The innermost layer is a light, smooth 100gsm air forged broadcloth. Supple and smooth, it will glide over anything underneath it, meaning any layers worn underneath won’t be bunched up by the vest on top of them.

Sandwiched between these two fabrics is a 120 gram Primaloft Infinity insulation, whose low denier continuous filament fibers are engineered to be migration resistant and won't penetrate other fabrics. Perfect for a breathable and versatile warmth.
