Story

This is the original Outlier pant. Designed as a bike-to-work pant but versatile enough to wear in almost any situation.

The OG Cloth is in many ways our most technical fabric. A four-way stretch doubleweave from Schoeller textil in Switzerland that combines incredible comfort with maximum performance in an elegant form. The tightly woven Cordura grade outer face is both rugged and water-resistant (but not waterproof). The soft inner face is woven in a three dimensional structure that minimizes skin contact and maximizes breathability. The “self-cleaning” NanoSphere treatment repels everything from wine and coffee to grit and beer, making for a fresher pant you can wear longer and wash less. All with the incredible freedom of movement afforded by a four-way stretch construction.

We originally designed this pant so we could bike to work, no matter what the weather or who we were supposed to meet. We quickly discovered we wanted to wear these things every single day, no matter the situation. Our customers use them for everything from heavy construction to getting married in. Our friends claim they can’t imagine having kids without a pant this clean and flexible. The New York Times said they had “yet to find a better pair of pants for hiking”. (Although we would recommend our Slim Dungarees for that!) Honestly, we don’t give an eff what you do with them, but we do think you’ll find your life just a little bit more flexible if you decide to put them on.

Fabric

Our core OG Cloth: breathable, comfortable and durable, the most versatile fabric around. The self-cleaning NanoSphere treatment means that coffee, wine and dirt roll off with ease, keeping you looking fresh and clean in the trickiest of situations. The Schoeller Dryskin Extreme fabric looks elegant, yet repels water. But when it does saturate, it will dry in minutes (generally around 15-20). The doubleweave structure means it's tough and durable on the exterior, yet soft and comfortable inside. The four-way stretch doubles-down on that comfort and means these pants move freely through any situation.
