Additional Information
- Story
- A lightweight rainshell experiment built around an air circulating e-static
membrane from Schoeller for extremely breathable comfort. Two-way water
resistant Uretek zippers at both the front and along each side allow for
calibrated six-way venting. Four pockets on the outside (two zippered hand
pockets, a rear stash pocket and left arm pocket), plus three on the inside
(one zippered left chest pocket and two mesh drop pockets), allow for
versatile and efficient carry. Ratchet cuffs allow for easy one-handed wrist
adjustments while the eyes-wide hood can be adjusted snugly to the head and
is designed for high visibility when in use.
Please note that due to tariffs implemented after production of this jacket began we do not anticipate being able to offer this product at this price again, and this may be the only run. Because of this we are waiving the standard EXPERIMENT return policy and this jacket is subject to the standard 45 day, any reason, Outlier return policy. - Fabric
-
An air-permeable, highly breathable and extremely water resistant fabric built around an electrostatic spun membrane. The face fabric is a lightweight and elegant four-way stretch woven in Switzerland by Schoeller Textiles. They then laminated to a European sourced e-static membrane that allows for just the right amount of airflow to make it really nice and breathable, while still staying highly water resistant with a 6000mm water column rating. At 135gsm it’s quite light, but with a nice structure and four-way stretch freedom of movement.
Electostatic spun waterproof-breathable membranes differ dramatically from traditional extruded membranes in that they are created by binding together millions of nanofibers into a super thin layer that is dense enough repel water but with enough tiny openings between the fibers to allow for air to flow through. More precisely it allows for about 0.5CFM of air flow, which is enough to generate a nice air current around your body to prevent that “garbage bag” feeling that traditional membranes tend to invoke. But it’s also low enough to cut most of the wind so you don’t feel open to the elements, just properly dry and balanced. Use it well and you just might feel the ecstasy in the rain. - Details
