Story

An experimental insulated poncho using our lean, lightweight and super-breathable Alphacharge construction. Merino performance toward the body, Alpha 60 insulation in the middle, Ultra Ultra cloth on the outside to ward off the elements.

Fabric

Alphacharge features three highly breathable fabrics matched together for optimized winter performance. Ultra lightweight four way stretch fabric from Schoeller Textil in Switzerland on the outer face provides some protection from the elements and the self cleaning Nanosphere treatment adds in some dirt and grime resistance.

Polartec’s Alpha insulation is an insulation specifically developed for the US military’s special forces to breathe freely, dry quickly and keep working, even in wet conditions. At 60gsm this results in lean, high performance insulation optimized for cool weather activity.

The inner face of the Alphacharge is our Runweight Merino Jersey, a blend of 17.5 micron merino and polyester. This combines the lushness and soft comfort of merino along with the performance and dry comfort of thermobuffering polyester. It’s engineered innovation integrated with nature’s finest performance fabric. Ultra Ultra is a lighter, stretchier and more breathable take on our Ultralight fabric.
