- Story
- We can't really lie about this one, this shirt was born from us thinking a
bit too much. We live in a time where almost no one wears a tie anymore yet
our button up shirts are all optimized for them. Maybe it's our curse but we
couldn't help wondering if there was a better way.
Once the tie is off there are two clear ways to wear a dress shirt. One can button all the way up, for a clean, sharp, efficient look, or leave the top undone for a looser, freer and more casual approach. Both options come with the risk of looking too uptight or too sloppy or looking a bit choked or a bit too out of control. With the tack collar we opted for none of the above.
The first thing we did was move the top button slightly, taking it off the collar band and onto the front placket. We then mitered the ends of the collar band for a cleaner smoother transition. Then we took the collar itself and bar tacked it into place, echoing the effect of a button down collar, while removing the casual chunk that those buttons create. We then sewed it all up with our clean and breathable Blazed Cotton fabric, utilizing a new lean and slim body shape to create a great looking shirt.

- A cleaner take on traditional cotton shirting. An openpoint oxford cotton
fabric blazed with a high tech treatment that emulates the self-cleaning
properties of a lotus leaf. The result is a soft, clean shirting that repels
dirt and sweat, leaving you looking sharp and professional no matter how
hard you push yourself.
We call the fabric an openpoint oxford cloth because it utilizes a traditional oxford basketweave but with low twist yarns which make for a more breathable shirting. These low twist yarns perfectly counterbalance the blazing process which adds a Nano-Tex® treatment to the fiber. The result is an improved Blazed Cotton; a fabric that breathes and absorbs well enough to be extremely comfortable yet is hydrophobic enough that sweat almost never shows through the fabric. - Details
